The Cottage Home Child and Family Services is a voluntary child care organisation that has been providing Child Care services in the south County Dublin area for over one hundred and thirty years.
The Cottage Home Child and Family Services was originally known as The Cottage Home – a voluntary childcare organisation founded in 1879. The original service started as a crèche or day nursery and was the only provision of this nature in Ireland. Based on the needs of children and families at the time, the service very soon developed into providing residential care.
Today we provide both residential care and family support. The residential services are registered and inspected by HIQA, the Health Information and Quality Authority and monitored by the Health Service Executive (HSE Dublin South).
The Family Support Service provision is underpinned by National and International principles and guidelines for best practice in family support.
The Cottage Home Child and Family Services is a member of IASCN (the Irish Association of Social Care Management) and also the Children’s Rights Alliance.
