The Cottage Home Child and Families Service aims to provide a safe, secure, and supportive home for up to eight young people, across two houses, aged between thirteen and eighteen years, of any gender, requiring medium- to long-term residential placements. We are committed to supporting each young person’s development while promoting dignity, freedom of choice, individuality, and independence.

We recognise that every young person has unique needs and may require different types and levels of support. Our approach is centred on providing individualised care, building positive relationships, and encouraging informed decision-making within a caring and safe environment.

We work in partnership with families, significant others, professionals from external agencies, and the young people themselves to ensure the best possible outcomes for those in our care. Young people are encouraged and supported to engage in meaningful day programmes, including education, training, or employment opportunities, helping them to build skills, confidence, and positive futures.

Our service is guided by the principles of Children First and operates in accordance with the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres (2018), the Children Act 1991, and the Child Care (Standards in Children’s Residential Centres) Regulations 1996.
